Roberta King the founder of Canna Communication 09 Feb

Roberta King is the founder of Canna Communication, a PR & Marketing firm for the cannabis industry. For 13 years, prior to launching the business, she was Vice President of PR & Marketing at Grand Rapids Community Foundation. Outside of her professional public relations writing, her articles and essays have been published in Atticus Review, Brain, Child; The Boiler, Hippocampus, Lifelines (The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College) and in The Rapidian. She is the author of He Plays a Harp, a memoir.

Roberta graduated from Valparaiso University and has a Masters degree in Communication from Grand Valley State University. She also earned a certificate in creative non-fiction from UCLA Extension.

She serves on the board of West Michigan Chapter of Public Relations Society of America and was named PR Professional of the Year in by the chapter in 2011. She is involved with the ACLU of Michigan and is a long-time advocate and activist for LGBTQ rights, helping the City of Muskegon adopt protections in 2012.

She is proud to have been named Oceana County’s Mrs. Asparagus Runner Up in 1989.
